Thanks Phil. These guys have also done some interesting work here: http://smob.sioc-project.org/. It's not just about the technology though - it's about what's needed to develop the medium and robust ecosystem of services and applications which is a bigger conversation.

I think Twitter represents an "upgrade" to human communication the impact of which is years from being comprehended, and the more we can do to "uplift" that transformation the better. Making all human conversation searchable and shareable is a tremendous achievement, but the benefits for collaboration are obvious.
